To John

To John

May 1942

When I think of you,

I constantly find myself transfixed

by the dance of the water upon the shore

I want to share with you

what I see tonight

Over the horizon,

The light has undone itself for the day

And all we have are these constellations

Lazily drifting above

And sometimes I wonder

if the ocean moves in ways

Alluring the stars to shine down

On the fury of the waves

Such a beautiful pairing

When you realize

The ocean shines

For it dances to the light

Of another

and I will always dance

for the light within your eyes

my love

until I see you again,

It's Not You, It's Me

It's Not You, It's Me

I Know You

I Know You
