When I look up to the sky

On these sweet September nights,

It is as if the summer

Quickly retreats and

Tucks itself away from the year

Mugginess fades

And we are granted this startling clarity

Lurking above

Stars twinkling

In melodic motion

Tip toeing through the universe

And I'm captivated.

Straining my neck

To take all in that I can,

And as time goes on

It seems as if the galaxies

Are ready to fall.

God is bound to spill this bag of diamonds

Upon my silly head

Full of small worries

And maybe it would be nice

To be serenaded by

The beautiful destruction

Of the heavens above.
